Valerie and Phil : Day After

She stood in the lobby of the Viceroy Hotel as the front doors opened, letting a light sea breeze push the strands of hair from her slim shoulders. Valerie stood with her veil in one hand, and a bright purple handbag in the other. Phil rushed in shortly after and slipped his arm around her waist. The waist of his newly minted wife. He liked the way it sounded. Wife. Rhymes with Life.

Having just returned from their honeymoon, they revisited the same hotel where they shared their first night together. With breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, Phil and Valerie prepared in the hotel room, but he saw none of it. Phil focused on the curve of her back as he helped Valerie slip back into the wedding dress, using his masculine fingers to loop the delicate buttons of the bodice. Once finished, the two of them stood in silence and smiled. The first time Valerie wore her wedding dress, she was going to marry the man she loved. But the second time she draped fabric over her ivory skin, her lover dressed her…and her soul.
